NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS
The Board of Supervisors of Washington County, Virginia, hereby gives notice of its intent to conduct public hearings at its regular meeting on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as may be heard regarding the following two matters.
Request to rezone Sentinel Group Properties, LLC, Property Tax Map #103B-5-19 from R-1 (Residential, Limited) to B-2 (Business, General): approximately 2.2 acres of property located at 19474 Dennison Drive; Abingdon, Virginia 24211; approximately 1,400 feet from the intersection of State Route 647 (Old Jonesboro Road) and State Route F-024 (Dennison Drive), Madison Magisterial District, Harrison (A-11) Election District.
An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 10, Article 11, Division 2 of the Code of the County of Washington, Virginia, to Establish a Program for Lifetime Dog Licensing and to Eliminate the One-Year and Three-Year Dog Licensing Program: Adoption of the ordinance would amend the Washington County Code of Ordinances to replace the County program for one-year and three-year dog licenses with a lifetime dog license program. The County programs for kennel tags, hybrid permits, and dangerous dog registrations would not be amended, with exception that application for a kennel tag for a commercial operation would be revised to require proof of zoning compliance.
