WASHINGTON COUNTY, VIRGINIA PUBLIC HEARINGS

Public hearings will be held on the following proposed ordinance by the Planning Commission of Washington County, Virginia, on Monday, May 24, 2021, 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as may be heard and by the Board of Supervisors of Washington County, Virginia, on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, 6:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as may be heard.  Both public hearings will be held in the Board of Supervisors Auditorium at the County Administration Offices located at 1 Government Center Place; Abingdon, Virginia. 

An Ordinance to Amend Sections 66-1 and 66-473 of the Code of the County of Washington, Virginia, to add Animal-Assisted Therapy as a Special Exception Use in the Business-General (B2) Zoning District

Adoption of the ordinance would allow Animal-Assisted Therapy to be permitted by special exception permit in the B2 zoning district and would require specified information to be included in the application for such permit.  The full text of the proposed ordinance may be found on the County website (https://www.washcova.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/21-0428-Notice-Ord-Animal-Assisted-Therapy.pdf) and at the County Administrative Division Offices at 1 Government Center Place; Abingdon, Virginia.
