Notice of Public Hearing

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Washington, Virginia, hereby gives notice of intent to conduct a public hearing at its regular meeting on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as may be heard regarding proposed sale of County property located at 174 East Main Street, Abingdon, Virginia to Old Hemlock Properties, LLC.  A copy of the proposed purchase agreement is available for public inspection in the office of the Washington County Administrator and on the County’s website using the link below this notice.

The hearing will be held in the Board of Supervisors Auditorium in the County Government Building located at 1 Government Center Place; Abingdon, Virginia.  Individuals requiring physical or sensory accommodations or additional information, please call Alicia Roland, Administrative Supervisor, Office of the County Administrator, (276) 525-1300, or call 1-800-828-1120 for TTY/TDD relay services.  COVID-19 NOTICE:  Audience number will be limited to provide safe distancing.  Seating will be available in the auditorium and in the lobby where livestream video may be viewed.  In addition to making comments at the meeting, comments may be submitted by email to https://www.washcova.com/contact-us/, by voicemail at 276-525-1300, or by placing written comments in the drop-box outside the second-floor entry to the Government Center Building.  All comments received before 6 p.m. the day of the meeting will be presented to the Board during the meeting.  A link to live-stream video will be posted at the time of the meeting at:  http://washingtoncountyva.iqm2.com/citizens/default.aspx?frame=no.  All citizens of Washington County are encouraged to attend.
